About me
A couple of years ago I started to take photos with the analog Canon EOS 500. Two years later I got mad of changing lenses very often so I purchased an EOS 50E and from then on I became a very loyal Canon customer spending many thousand Euros for Canon photo gear.
If the sales guy who sold the EOS 500 to me would have chosen a Nikon, I certainly was a Nikon user today – o.k. he is guilty in that case but I’m really satisfied with what I got. After I had more experience with the 50E I bought an EOS 5 and the 50E became my 2nd camera body.
The next step was a digital Cam and so I purchased a 10D which was followed by an EOS 1D, EOS 30D, EOS 50D, EOS 1Ds MarkII and finally the EOS 7D which is the camera body I’m currently working with. And I love my Powershot G11 – nice compact camera shooting RAW files and working with Canon Speedlites. Pefect addition to the hand luggage…
I’ve owned some nice L lenses like the EF 70-200 mm 2.8 L, 300 mm 4.0 L IS, 100-400 mm L IS which I all sold because I focused more and more on portrait and aquatic photography which requires lenses with less focal length.
My current lenses are :
- EF 135 mm 2.0 L
- EF 85 mm 1.8
- Sigma 50 mm 2.8 Macro
- Sigma 150 mm Macro 2.8 HSM
- EF 70-200 4.0 L IS
All those items are extremely sharp but the 135 mm 2.0 L is probably the sharpest thing that Canon ever built !
And, well…I’m an amateur photographer. Taking photos is one of my methods to relax, I’d say it’s #2 to me – #1 is riding my horse and working…
